Play your IPTV playlist on Windows

KimberPlay turns your own M3U or Xtream source into live TV, a programme guide, movies and series. The Windows app uses the mpv playback engine. No IPTV subscription or paid channels are included.

Desktop app or browser player?

Choose the Windows app for native playback and Plus DVR recording. Choose the browser player to try the interface without an installation, provided your source permits browser access and uses supported video and audio formats.

The desktop app can work with sources that browser security or codec support prevents the web player from opening. It still needs a working source, valid credentials and permission to play the content.

What you need

A Windows PC with an internet connection and the KimberPlay desktop app.
An M3U playlist URL, or an Xtream server address, username and password from a source you are authorized to use.
For an M3U guide, the source’s XMLTV guide URL if it is not supplied by the playlist.

Add your source

Open KimberPlay and complete the first-run setup.
Choose M3U or Xtream. Paste an M3U URL, or enter the three Xtream login fields separately.
Choose the content types, regions and quality levels you want to import.
Let the import finish, then open a channel. Check live playback before troubleshooting the programme guide.

For example, an Xtream login might use server https://provider.example:8443 with the username and password in their own fields. That address is an illustration, not a working service. Avoid posting playlist URLs publicly: they can contain your login details.

If something does not work

The import fails

Check the server address, port and credentials against the details supplied by your source. A playlist URL and an Xtream server address are different inputs. Check whether the account has expired or reached its connection limit.

The library loads but a stream will not play

Try another channel from the same source. If one works, investigate the failing stream; if none work, check network access and the source account. An imported channel list does not establish that each stream is available.

There is no programme information

Check the XMLTV source, channel matching and guide time correction. Follow the EPG troubleshooting guide.

A recording fails

Check your Plus entitlement, destination-folder permissions and available disk space. The PC and app need to remain running with access to the stream while recording. Test a short recording before relying on a longer programme.

Know the platform differences before buying

Desktop Plus includes features such as multiple playlists, backup and DVR. Multi-view, Cloud Sync and control from the phone remote are currently features of the Fire TV and Android TV apps, not the Windows player.
