Devices
Verified devices, verified honestly.
“Verified” here means a physical device we run the app on, with the model code, OS version, and date written down. Everything else is labeled for what it is.
Features by platform
One Plus key covers up to five devices. Features depend on the player you use; a license does not add capabilities that its platform does not support. Samsung TV is still in development and is not included in this availability table.
| Feature | Fire TV / Android TV | Windows / Linux | Web player |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live TV, guide, movies and series | Yes | Yes | Browser-compatible sources |
| Multiple playlists, hubs, reminders, backup and skins (Plus) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| DVR recording (Plus) | Yes | Yes, through mpv | Not available |
| Catch-up replay (Plus) | Provider-dependent | Provider-dependent | Provider and browser-dependent |
| Multi-view (Plus) | Up to four streams; device-dependent | Not available | Not available |
| Cloud Sync (paid Plus key) | Optional; enable in Settings | Not available | Not available |
| Control this player with the phone remote (Plus) | Yes | Not available | Not available |
A phone browser can control a paired TV at Phone Remote; that does not turn the browser player into a remotely controlled TV. Cloud Sync requires a paid key and is excluded from the trial. See privacy details for sync and remote data processing.
Recorded device checks
These dated results describe earlier builds. They do not certify the current release; playback, upgrades and recording must be rechecked when the player changes.

Should work
KimberPlay targets Android TV / Google TV on Android 5.0 (API 21) and newer with a standard remote. Google TV boxes and Android TV sets in that range should run it — they simply haven’t been through the recorded pass above yet, so we won’t call them verified.
The Windows app targets Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). It is the same app as the web player wrapped as a desktop program, with two things a browser can’t offer: it talks to your provider the way a native player does, and it plays through mpv, so the formats browsers refuse (MKV, HEVC, AC3, raw MPEG-TS) all work. The installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm the first launch — verify the SHA-256 shown next to the download before you do.
The web player
kimberplay.com/app runs the same app in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox with nothing to install. One honest limit: a browser can only load providers that allow web pages to fetch from them (CORS), and many don’t. If yours refuses, the built-in demo still shows you the whole app, and the Windows and TV versions are not affected.

Phones, tablets, and iOS/Apple TV are not supported. macOS and Linux desktops are not currently available; the web player runs there. A Samsung TV (Tizen) app is in development.
