IPTV guide showing “No information”? Here’s what’s actually wrong
Empty guide rows are the most common IPTV complaint there is, and the fix depends on which of three things broke. This guide applies to any player — TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, KimberPlay, all of them — because the underlying plumbing is the same everywhere.
How the guide is supposed to work
Your playlist lists channels; a separate XMLTV feedlists programs. The two are joined by an id — each channel’s tvg-id must match a channel id in the guide feed. When the join fails, the channel plays fine but its guide row is empty. Everything below is a way that join breaks.
Cause 1 — The channel has a blank or wrong tvg-id
The most common cause by far. Providers assemble playlists from many sources, and on real playlists a large share of channels ship with no tvg-id at all, or one the guide feed has never heard of. In most players those channels are permanently blank unless you map them by hand, channel by channel.

It deliberately refuses to guess: an ambiguous name stays blank rather than showing the wrong schedule, and any channel can still be assigned by hand in two clicks from the guide.
Cause 2 — The guide feed itself is stale or missing
If every channel is blank, the feed didn’t load: the playlist has no url-tvg, the provider’s xmltv.phpis down, or the app hasn’t refreshed since the feed expired. Check whether your provider publishes a separate EPG URL and that it’s configured. Cause 3 — The feed covers a different region or naming scheme
A UK guide feed will never describe US locals no matter how good the matching is. If one country’s channels are all blank while another’s work, ask your provider whether their EPG actually covers that region — no player can invent missing data, and anyone promising otherwise is guessing.
The five-minute checklist
- One channel blank → its tvg-id is dead. Assign the guide manually (or use a player that name-matches).
- All channels blank → the feed URL is missing, down, or expired. Fix the source.
- One region blank → the feed doesn’t cover it. Talk to the provider.
- Wrong programs showing → the id maps to the wrong feed channel. Reassign it.
- Guide lags a day → the feed is stale; force a refresh, then check the provider.
