Is KimberPlay legal?
KimberPlay is player software, like a television set: it ships with no channels, playlists, or subscriptions, and neither sells nor recommends any. Playing content you have the right to access is legal; the legality of any stream depends on the playlist you load, which comes from you. You are responsible for the content you access and for the laws where you live.
Does KimberPlay come with channels?
No, and it never will. Any app that arrives with channels pre-loaded is acting as an unlicensed broadcaster. KimberPlay plays your own M3U playlist or Xtream login from your own provider.
What do I need to start?
A Fire TV or Android TV device and a playlist from your IPTV provider - either an M3U URL or an Xtream server login. Install the app from kimberplay.com/apk, paste the playlist, done. The Free tier includes live TV with the full guide.
Will an app update delete my playlist?
No. Every KimberPlay update migrates your library, favorites, history, and settings forward, and the migration chain is enforced by automated tests before a release can ship. This is the number-one failure of IPTV players generally, and the number-one reason KimberPlay was built the way it is.
What devices does KimberPlay run on?
Amazon Fire TV (Sticks and Cubes, including 2015-era models) and Android TV / Google TV devices. A Samsung TV (Tizen) app is in development on the same license. One Plus key covers five devices.
What does Plus cost, and what stays free?
Plus is $9.99 per year or $29.99 lifetime, with a 14-day no-questions refund. Free includes live TV with the full program guide. Plus adds the power features - recording, catch-up, the Sports Hub, skins, and more.
Does KimberPlay see my playlist or what I watch?
No. Your playlist credentials and viewing history stay on your device. The only thing the app sends home is a license check for Plus keys - the key and a device id, nothing about your content.
My guide says 'No information' on some channels. Fixable?
Usually yes, automatically. Channels with blank or wrong guide ids get matched to the guide by name; anything ambiguous is left blank rather than guessed wrong, and you can assign a guide to any channel by hand in two clicks.
